Katie Casey is an experienced mental health support worker, coach, mentor and physical therapist (Yoga, Meditation and Massage) who has worked both in private and public service areas. She has a background in wellbeing and coaching psychology (Msc distinction in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology), a level 4 diploma in counselling, as well as certificates in Narrative and IFS therapy. She is also a trained Yoga Sivananda Teacher and BSY qualified Therapeutic Massage Therapist. She is a registered and accredited Senior coach and mentor with the European Coaching and Mentoring Council (EMCC)l as well as being an ACCPH member (Registered Coaches, Counsellors, Psychotherapists and hypnotherapies).
Katie maintains up to date and relevant training certifications in Mental Health First Aid, OCD, Dementia awareness, Suicide prevention, Manual Handling, Panic Attacks, OCD, Depression and many other important safeguarding certifications. (Please ask for more details).
She is also First Aid trained and holds an advance DBS certificate housed on the DBD database.
Katie’s first job at 15 was as a support worker for a Special Educational Needs playground near where she grew up.
After volunteering for over a year, at the tender age of 16, she was offered a full time Saturday and holiday worker job as a care worker which she loved.
Since then, Katie has gone on to have a diverse career as a choreographer and dance teacher, working for companies such as The Royal Shakespeare Company and Welsh National Opera, but has always brought a holistic perspective to helping individuals feel at their best in whatever role they find themselves working in. After being drawn back into wellbeing as a coach and a mentor, Katie has worked in both highly dynamic and financially driven industries such as banking and Retail, but also in community settings such as care homes and the charity sector. This diverse experience gives her a unique perspective into the needs of very diverse groups of people.
For the last 20 years, Katie has worked in various different professional fields as a freelance coach, mental health professional, and yoga and mindfulness teacher. Companies include Breast Cancer Care, Headway East London as well as recently for the charity Essex Respite and Care Association who support adults with a variety of mental health and cognitive needs. She also trains others in mental health through the group Vita Health as well as devises and delivers 121 and group training sessions in leadership, impact, mental health and resilience through her own company ID partnership. Her initial love of working with children also means she facilitates wellbeing sessions for children from ages 4-13 on key life skills such as confidence, relationship building and teamwork through her own company as well as the internationally recognised educational provider Role Models.
Katie loves in Chingford East London, where she is a proud mother of 2, wife to 1, and spends her spare time dog walking for her own mental health whilst enjoying her local Epping Forest.
Whilst most of her time is now spend working in corporate settings – Katie is passionate about community work and offers freelance mental health support, life coaching, training and wellbeing services within community settings.
